Liverpool have moved up to fourth in the Premier League after a 3-1 win over Crystal Palace at Anfield. Alexander Isak scored his first goal since December, with Andy Robertson and Florian Wirtz also on the scoresheet.
Match Report
The win was marred by an injury to Mo Salah, who pulled up with a hamstring problem just before the hour mark. Salah, who has announced he will be leaving the club this summer, was forced off and his availability for the remaining four matches is now in doubt.
Liverpool took the lead through Isak, who controlled Alexis Mac Allister's shot and sent a bouncing effort over Dean Henderson into the right corner. Robertson then added a second, finishing expertly after being slid in by Curtis Jones.
Reaction
Liverpool head coach Arne Slot said of Salah's injury: 'The prognosis is too early to say. We all know Mo, how hard it is for him to leave the pitch. If we were 6-0 and I take him out two minutes before the end, he's still like 'I could have scored two more'.
Slot added: 'For Mo to leave the pitch, that tells you something, but we have to wait and see how bad it is.' Daniel Munoz pulled a goal back for Palace, but Wirtz sealed the win for Liverpool with a late strike.
Controversy
The match was not without controversy, with Munoz's goal coming after Freddie Woodman had appeared to be hurt in a collision. Woodman was able to continue, but Larsen's shot stayed out after hitting the inside of the left post before Wirtz made sure of the result.
What's Next
The win moves Liverpool above Aston Villa on goal difference and level with Manchester United. They now have an eight-point lead over sixth-placed Brighton with four matches remaining.
