Newcastle to explore Wissa sale this summer

Newcastle United are set to explore the possibility of selling Yoane Wissa this summer, less than a year after signing the DR Congo forward for a fee rising to £55 million. The 29-year-old could be moved on as the club assesses its attacking options ahead of the transfer window.

Striker market in focus

Barcelona have made initial contact with Atletico Madrid to gauge their stance on a potential move for Argentina international Julian Alvarez. The 26-year-old striker remains under contract with Atletico, but interest from Camp Nou could spark a summer transfer battle.

Meanwhile, AC Milan and Bayern Munich are monitoring the situation of Dusan Vlahovic. The 26-year-old Juventus striker is yet to sign a new contract, opening the door for a possible exit if no agreement is reached this summer.

Club managerial and squad decisions

Scott Parker's future as Burnley manager is uncertain following the club's relegation from the Premier League. Former Rangers and Aston Villa boss Steven Gerrard, 45, is among the names being considered to take over. Gerrard, who left Al-Ettifaq in Saudi Arabia in 2025, is also attracting interest from Championship side Bristol City.

Chelsea weighing managerial options

Chelsea have added Xabi Alonso, the former Real Madrid head coach, and Fulham boss Marco Silva to their shortlist for the managerial vacancy. The club is also facing decisions over its attacking players, with 23-year-old English striker Liam Delap determined to stay and fight for his place.

On the transfer front, Borussia Dortmund are close to re-signing English winger Jadon Sancho, who will become a free agent in July. Aston Villa remain hopeful of securing his signature. Liverpool, meanwhile, are likely to miss out on RB Leipzig's 19-year-old Ivorian prospect Yan Diomande, who is expected to stay at the German club for at least another year.

In Germany, Bayern Munich plan to open contract talks with England captain Harry Kane at the end of the season, aiming to extend the 32-year-old striker’s deal beyond 2027.
